Mongolian People’s Republic, 1940

On 6 April 1940 the Mongolian People’s Republic adopted a national emblem, featuring a horseman racing through a landscape towards the rising sun - its golden rays mean prosperity. Pictures of livestock stand for animal husbandry. The name of the country - Bügd Nairamdakh Mongol Ard Uls - is inscribed in white Mongolian script at the bottom and the red star of communism is at the top.
