Republic of Mongolia, 1992

A new state emblem was adopted on 25 March 1992, following the fall of the Communist government. On a blue field, symbolising the sky is the “Soyombo”and a “Wind Horse” symbols of Tibetan Buddhism, as a symbol of independence, sovereignty and spirit. Below this is a green mountain range and the “Khürd” (the wheel of Dharma) and a “khadag”, the blue ceremonial scarf. It is surrounded by an ornamental border, “tumen nasan”, symbolising eternity and a “chandmani”, the Buddhist three jewels.
