Previous Desert Ceremonies from Central Australia
Two men, belonging to the Jupurrula subsection, dance with a "karli" (boomerang) and a "kurdiji", (wooden shield) painted with the dreaming design relevant to their clan and the song cycle followed during a "Jarduwanpa" ceremony in a Warlpiri Aboriginal community in the Northern Territory. Women with "kuturu" fighting sticks are dancing behind them.
