Previous Aboriginal Hunting in the Northern Territory
A sea turtle is cooked by a Yanyuwa man on a beach at Lalawura, on Centre Island in the Gulf of Carpentaria near Borroloola. Hot stones are placed in the body cavity and the turtle will be cooked in a ground oven.
