Previous Arnhem Land Island communities, NT: Elcho Island
"Ranggas", sacred tribal sculptured poles that were publicly displayed when the Yolngu Aboriginal people decided to adopt Christianity in Galiwin'ku community on Elcho Island. These poles could formerly only be viewed by initiated men; it caused the breakdown in traditional law.
