Aboriginal Children's Portraits from Northern Australia

Bulman boy

A boy from the southern Arnhem Land community of Bulman; the people of Bulman and nearby Weemol come from many different groups, with a bewildering array of languages in a relatively small area. The language nowadays taking over is Kriol, an English-based Creole that has developed into a truly Aboriginal language.
