The Atherton Tablelands in Far North Queensland

Curtain Fig Tree

The Curtain Fig Tree (Ficus virens), its aerial roots like a curtain dropping 15 metres to the ground, 3 kilometres from the small town of Yungaburra on the Atherton Tablelands. In 1992 you could walk inside its roots: not anymore.
