Torres Strait Islands Dances of Djarragun College

The “Five Stars”, Senior boys from the Top Western islands of Boigu and Saibai in the Torres Strait (just south of Papua New Guinea), perform three traditional dances during the 2005 Students Graduation ceremonies at Djarragun College. After marching on stage they do two dances accompanied by drumming and singing by the girls and finish with “Abua”, a “Silent Dance” where only drums are used.
