Aboriginal dancing from North Queensland

Girls from Djarragun College, a school for indigenous students near Cairns, perform dances from Mer (Murray Island) in the Torres Strait during an evening celebration for Mabo Day in Cairns. They sing and dance “The Barrier Reef” (that can be seen from Mer) and “Uzikes” (about the strait between Dawar and Waiar, two small islands off Mer) and do a “Silent Dance”, with just drumming.
