Girringun Festival in North Queensland

Next

Aboriginal students from Djarragun College, an indigenous school near Cairns, Far North Queensland, perform traditional dances during the Girringun Festival in Cardwell. They perform a Welcome Dance, a dance depicting finding bush honey in a tree and the “Mosquito dance” about trying to keep mosquitoes away while hunting in the mangroves.
