Spanish Empire

Spanish Empire

The flag depicting the “Cross of Burgundy” (representing the cross in which Saint Andrew was crucified) served during the Spanish colonisation of the Americas as the flag of the Viceroyalties of the New World. Today it is still used as the flag of the Chuquisaca department; its capital is Sucre, which is also the constitutional capital of Bolivia.
