Peru - Bolivia, 1838

In 1838 General Santa Cruz created the Peruvian - Bolivian Confederation, consisting of three states: Bolivia, North Peru and South Peru. Its flag was a red field with the three shields of the constituent states in the centre united by interlaced garlands. There were various variants of this flag. In 1839, General Santa Cruz was overthrown and the confederation was disbanded.
