Bolivia State Flag, 1888

Bolivia State Flag, 1888

The Bolivian State Arms of 1888 is placed on the centre stripe of the state flag of red (symbolising the courage of Bolivian soldiers), yellow or gold (mineral wealth) and green (the country's fertility). Red and yellow are derived from the colours of Colombia and her liberator Simon Bolivar, who also liberated Bolivia, named after him.
