Tarabuco, the home of Yampara culture and Pujllay

Pujllay dance

The Pujllay festival in the village of Tarabuco, the centre of traditional “Yampara” culture. The dancer wears a headdress inspired by the Spanish helmet and large spurs, commemorating a battle they won over the Spaniars long ago. The dance is accompanied by music on long flutes.
