Grounded Sun

The Grounded Sun (Prizemljeno sunce), created by the famous Croatian modern artist and sculptor Ivan Kožarić, a bronze sphere of around 2 metres in diameter since 1994 in Bogovićeva Ulica, in the pedestrian zone in the centre of Zagreb. In 2004 Davor Preis created an art installation, including the model of the entire Solar system with the different planets faithful to the size of Kožarić’s sun and to the actual ratios of the Solar system: the scale is 1:680,000,000 and the planetary spheres are placed around Zagreb.
