Archeological site, Choirokoitia

The archeological site of Choirokoitia (Khirokitia). It is on the slope of a hill in the Maroni River valley, about 6 kilometres from the sea. This Neolithic village is one of the most important and best-preserved prehistoric sites of the eastern Mediterranean. It was occupied from the 7th until the 4th millennium BCE.
