28 Mehmet Çelebi Sokak

The gate on the 28 Mehmet Çelebi Sokak, named after Yirmisekiz Mehmed Çelebi Efendi, an Ottoman statesman who was delegated as ambassador by Sultan Ahmed III to Louis XV’s France in 1720. He died in Famagusta in 1732. At right the former Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, later Sinan Paşa Mosque.
