Port-au-Prince, Haiti’s capital

Presidential Palace

The Maison Blanche (“White House”), the Presidential palace on the Place des Héros de l'Indépendence in Haiti’s capital Port-au-Prince. In the foreground Albert Mangones' sculpture “Le Marron Inconnu” (a rebelling slave), commemorating the large slave revolt of 1791. The palace collapsed in the massive earthquake that struck the city on 12 January 2010.
