Entrance to Huijeongdang

Huijeongdang, a hall that served as the place of work (“Pyeonjeon”) and bed chambers for the king in Changdeokgung Palace. It burned down in 1917 and this building was reconstructed with materials from the former king's residence at Gyeongbokgung Palace. It is entirely different from the original, with at the front a waiting area for a vehicle and, inside, western furnishings, glass windows and electric lights.
