Changdeokgung Palace, Seoul

Pavillions around pond

Although originally two square ponds and one round pond in the Secret Garden, these were combined during the Japanese occupation. Seungjaejong pavilion stands on a small hill at left while at the far shore is Pyeomusa; both were built after 1830. At right is Jondeokjong, built in 1644, the oldest pavilion.
