Jeju Province (previous)

Jeju-do, Jeju island, south of the Korean peninsula, now Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, had a diagonally divided flag, with a blue triangle symbolising Hallasan (Mount Halla) and the Earth, and the white triangle Heaven. The red circle in the while triangle symbolise the Sun and the three wave patterns in the circle are symbolic of Cheju's “Samda”, the three abundances: women, winds and stones and “Sammu”, three non-existent features: beggars, thieves and gates. All of these portray the pure Cheju people.
