Assistants at the entrance to the Jeongjeon (Main Hall) where the late afternoon rites will take place of the Jongmyo Daeje ceremony, the Royal Ancestral Memorial Rite, to honour the Joseon kings and their consorts whose mortuary tablets are enshrined in that hall; originally only the memorial tablets of Joseon’s reigning kings and queens were enshrined here.
