Prizren, Kosovo's most Oriental City

To Iljaz Kuka Mosque

The Iljaz Kuka Mosque, on the left bank of Lumbardhi River, probably built around 1535, while later, the nephew of Kukli-Bey, Mehmed Bey, added the Minaret, paying tribute to his grandfather, Iliaz Kukli, and giving his name to the whole neighbourhood. It was renovated in 1897 by Ahmed Bey.
