Prizren, Kosovo's most Oriental City

Sahat Kula

Prizren's Clock Tower (Sahat Kula), erected in 1870 by Eshref Pasha. During Ottoman times it showed the Islamic people the prayer times and shopkeepers when to open and close their shops. The adjacent Hamam of Mehmed Pasha (Turkish bath), built in 1498, is now the Archaeological Museum, opened after restoration in November 1975.
