Republic of Mongolia, 1992

On July 29, 1990, the first free, multiparty elections in Mongolia were held and in 1992 a new constitution implemented; the “People’s Republic” had ceased to exist. Mongolia’s flag was subsequently altered: the communist star was removed from the vertical tricolour of red - light blue - red, with the stripe at the hoist just featuring the “Soyombo”, the national symbol.
