The Beatles monument

The Beatles monument, designed by sculptor B.Denzen, was unveiled on 9 October 2008 to coincide with John Lennon¬ís birthday; Mongolians today continue to cite The Beatles as instigators of social changes that led to the nation¬ís separation from the Soviet Union. In the background the State Department Store, across Peace Avenue (Enkh Taivny Örgön Chölöö) in central Ulaanbaatar.
