The iNcwala or First Fruits Ceremony in 1974-75

Men and boys return

Young men and boys return in the early morning to the Royal residence of Lobamba, with “lusekwane”, a species of acacia that will be used to cover the “inhlambelo” enclosure in the “sibaya”, cattle byre, of Lobamba for the iNcwala ceremony. They have marched for hours and collected the shrubs at night.
