Colony of Timor, 1935

On 8 May 1935 Coats of Arms were adopted for all Portuguese colonies, all with similar designs: a shield displaying two sub-shields, with one, silver, charged by five blue escutcheons with silver dots (bezants) in the form of a cross, representing Portugal, the other representing the territory, the base the oceans between them. The shield representing Timor is charged with a gyronny of 8 in black and white with in the center a cross in inverted colours ending in fleurs-de-lys. On the cross is a blue shield with five white disks. The full arms were set upon a golden armillary sphere with a golden mural crown and the name of the colony on a scroll.
